    Description

Choose one of FOUR radios keys TWO amplifiers
High quality relay box to interface between
    any FOUR radio
    s and will key
    any TWO amplifiers
    Switch chooses
    ONE
    of
    FOUR
radios that will activate BOTH amplifiers or noise cancelling units
    (
choose unused switch position to bypass the amplifiers)
Many newer radios can only provide for a small amount of current on the external amplifier keying output.
    Better SAFE than SORRY!
In response to your requests for a relay interface box that will key TWO completely separate amplifiers, we have developed the RBI-42.
Do you have a need to key TWO amplifiers (perhaps a driver amp and high power amp) that have two different keying relay voltages? Our RBI-42 can (for example) key one amp with a 120 VAC T/R relay and your other amplifier that uses a 12 VDC T/R relay (or ANY voltage and current up to 240 volts ac/dc @ 5 amps for EACH amp). The keying circuits in our RBI-42 are COMPLETELY SEPARATE from each other and the radio is isolated. EACH output is a relay closure from center conductor of the RCA jack to the outside of the RCA jack. EACH output uses completely SEPARATE relay contacts!
    WHY use two amplifiers?
Some users want to extend the life of their radio's expensive final transistors by running low power from their radio into an intermediate amplifier and have that amplifier run only what is needed to get full output from their higher power amplifier.
Some users want to use an "instant on" amplifier for most contacts but still also have a larger amplifier what may require warm up time that is less frequently used. With our box, you do not need to reach in back to disconnect and reconnect each amplifier keying line.
Some users have dedicated amplifiers for different bands and antennas and also don't want to to disconnect and reconnect individual relay keying cables
Our box will draw <3 MA from your radio and will key any TWO separate amplifiers. A very handy accessory. Get one BEFORE you damage your radios amplifier keying output!
    RCA jacks in and out
Needs 9-15 VDC at only 45 ma. 5 feet of wire included
Connect our RBI-42 to your radios keying circuit (ground center conductor to key our box)
Connect your amplifier relay keying input to either output on our RBI-42, connect your other amp keying line to the other RBI-62 output
Relays rated up to 240 Volts at 5 AMPS, switch AC or DC any polarity!
Genuine relay used for switching (not an easy to damage solid state device)
Both amplifiers switch at the same time
Both amplifier keying lines are completely isolated from each other

    Style of knob MAY vary
This is not one of those types that make you use a battery to power the unit! This high quality device is powered by your station power supply or any filtered DC source from 9-15 VDC (only 65 ma required) Need the best DC power supply? See our ebay store for SAMLEX power supplies.
Need to key only one amplifier? See our eBay store listing for the RBI-1 amplifier keying relay interface
Need to key up to SIX amplifiers? See our eBay store listing for the RBI-6a amplifier keying relay interface
Need to key MORE than two linears? Contact us for custom made amplifier PTT relay keying interfaces. (We also make a SIX unit amp keying box, keyed from a one or two radios)
When connecting your Radio and Amplifier, there may be switching voltage, polarity, and current incompatibility  that can cause damage to your radio or amplifier if connected without a switching interface between them. Even if your internal radio switching looks like it might be usable, it is wise to have an extra degree of isolation between your amplifier and radio with our relay buffer interface.
